Greg tries to fish the cap out with a cotton swab, but all he fishes up is hair and junk, and he guarantees the reader he will never be a plumber. Loretta is Greg's great-aunt and the sister of Grandpa, Arthur, and Reba. She has two out-of-control twin sons, Malvin and Malcolm. He thinks if he had his way, he'd buy every crazy luxury invention, but if Susan had her way, there would be no computers, cell phones, or baby wipes, and he sees baby wipes as a priority. By the end of the film adaptation of Rodrick Rules, he is much closer to Greg, and his actions to him become much less aggressive. Chirag Gupta is an Indian American who serves as one of Greg's schoolmates and a minor character in the books. He has sharp metal tools, which he leaves on full display, and never smiles. Greg must contend with his Grandpa moving in, trying to avoid going to Hardscrabble Farms to avoid a week of hard work, and must deal with his father’s insistence on Greg becoming more independent and more responsible. Greg tries to get a bucket so he can put it back, but Mr. Jefferson shows up, asking Greg where the others are as Julian, Graham and the other one are absent and the three impromptu fishermen are still in the bathroom.

It is implied that Greg and Rodrick dislike her, as they fight over who has to greet her first when she visits. He discovered the maintenance one day and, wanting to keep it a secret, made up the Silas Scratch myth in order to do so. Greg disagrees as hydrated people work twice as fast, and they argue. She also seems to have a passion for bingo and knitting. When Greg was sitting on the toilet playing games on his new phone (which was actually a hand-me-down from his mother), she accidentally started a video chat with him. Also, in Rodrick Rules Bill appears to be a slob, as he "slorks" pot roast. At school, Greg wonders if he's unprepared because all the other children have a whole lot of gear than Greg. Malvin and Malcolm are Gretchen's two sons. Chris is a friend of Rodrick and the bassist of Löded Diper.

[4] Rowley claims that Greg had nothing to do with the comic strip in the first book, a rare antagonistic move from him. However, Rowley’s Birthday is in October, which would take them to the Ugly Truth, when they weren’t friends anymore.

Har, har, har."

In The Last Straw, Charlie got Greg a laundry hoop, hinting that he is tired of being Greg's secret weapon at Christmas, as the events that transpired meant that Greg effectively got a chore for Christmas.

Taylor then comes up behind Greg and states that he is talking to himself, due to being scared. If this isn’t enough for Greg to handle, he must also deal with his mother’s insistence on going unplugged and spending more time with one another instead of electronics. Despite trying to find the cause of the smell, the Snellas cannot figure it out and eventually just move. To Greg's horror, Dad decides to sign Greg up for the same military academy that Lenwood attended, leading to Greg taking measures to convince him to change his mind. He believes they are a very good invention and think they should have been invented at the same time as the light bulb. Life was better in the old days.

To get Grandpa to move out so he doesn't have to share with Manny and Grandpa (who mopes around the house in his bathrobe), Greg wants him to be dating as he and Darlene broke up, but he online dates fifty women. In "Old School", he is stuck chaperoning the group of extra kids (which includes Rowley and Greg), much to Greg's dismay. When Greg admits to drinking soda, Dr. Kagan is infuriated, and shows Greg a jar of liquid with a badly eroded tooth in it, telling him that it is a real tooth that was left in a jar of soda for 24 hours. Pete Hosey is the leader of the teenagers who attacked Greg and Rowley on Halloween. One of the statements which were not confirmed by Greg was when Albert told him that "it was medically impossible for a girl to fart". She is depicted as being friendly and good-natured. They then argued about if they'd be efficient and Frank poked Giles in the butt with a spork and Giles's mother spanked Frank. On Sunday, Frank is very grumpy as he is mad at Greg about the car, he has to babysit seven middle schoolers, the children haven't showered, and the toilet is not working.

Christopher Brownfield is one of Greg's friends and is shown to have been a great mosquito magnet while hanging out with Greg in the summer.

However, this backfires as he is usually given the wrong thing. Frew and Billy strip down to their underwear, but Greg does not want to take advice from a criminal. This results in Frank angrily making them leave. She appears in Hard Luck multiple times – often in person – but on other occasions by video conference on a tablet and the used phone that Susan gave to Greg. She snatches any opportunity to assault Greg somehow while engaged in either sport with him. He met Greg in Double Down when he found Greg's balloon for the Balloon Brigade at his school. She is overweight and sometimes passes gas loudly. Rowley has what Greg considers strange interests for his age and gender, such as liking a singer for "six-year-old girls" named Joshie and action figures Greg believes are for younger kids. Frank says that as a kid, he and his best friend Giles would play make-believe in the woods. She is a loving and caring mother but can be embarrassing, bossy, hypocritical, dimwitted, overprotective, and naive. Susan only likes him because he doesn't have electronics in his house and wants Maddox to be a role model for Greg; however, Maddox was rude to Greg. Some make no sense, for example, he said a man got decapitated when he sneezed. Reba was the sister of Grandpa, Loretta, and Arthur Heffley.

He is 36 years old in the first book and he is interested in U.S. history, and his replica of a Civil War battlefield is a plot point in the series. Considering that the camp has followed that method for over 30 years, it doesn't make sense how it hasn't been shut down yet. Frank does not want to help them set up. He opens the cabin under the sink, and reads one of Frank's do-it-yourself plumbing books, but can't make sense of it so he decides to wing it. Rodrick also possesses incompetent tendencies, as his school assignments are notoriously crude and inadequate. while in time-out. But Mr. Nuzzi checks on them and scares them inside with the threat of trouble and Silas Scratch.

They are a couple with three sons. The fortuneteller also told Audra that Meemaw's ring was inside a photo album. Rowley throws weeds on the fire, which smothers it. The chaperones take all the deodorant away. One lady told them they needed to mix it, but did not want some even when they did that, a few other people said it was too sweet, so Greg got more water from the hose, but people didn't like where he got it from. Love, Mom." Joe Heffley is Frank's brother and Greg's uncle.

In the aftermath of the park cleanup, Frank has become angry and believes Greg can't be watched and trusted on his own. Malvin had to go to the emergency room to get stitches in his forehead. He then (mistakenly) states humans need modern technology to survive nowadays and predicts human beings will not have spines a thousand years from now. The next day, Greg tells about how his dad said that when he was growing up, kids played outside all day in the summer, which was the opposite of Greg's summer, spent in Film Camp, which is a place to watch movies, but most of the other viewers are rowdy younger children and when he goes out it takes half an hour to adjust to the sunlight. He takes out a plastic tube, but water sprays out and by the time he shuts off the valve, there is a puddle on the floor. (Blaming and punishing Greg for the fish in the toilet even though it wasn’t entirely his fault) Greg's group is at a loss for how to build a rain shelter and the other groups don't want to share their methods. This haunts him when he returns to school. Aunt Gretchen is Susan's youngest sister. He has been known to perplex others with his behavior and does not have any known friends. He also mentions that Joe's dog, Killer ate most of his birthday cake. Luckily for Greg, Susan takes Frank to the airport on a business trip on Friday morning. Frank Heffley is Greg's overactive but well-meaning father. Susan doesn't like technology thinking it doesn't make people socialize. A few people also start tipping.

Another group raids Greg's cabin, takes Graham's snacks and clogs the toilet with Greg's baby wipes, which wets everything in his duffle bag except Grandpa's book, which Greg reads and it has info like how to build a potato radio, and (ironically) how to identify poison ivy. He is portrayed by Jakob Davies. In the yard, all Grandpa's online dates are having a party, which Frank stops, then Frank tells Grandpa off and puts him in time-out, however, Grandpa had only meant to invite one lady, but accidentally hit "send all" and everyone showed up at once, and then it had escalated into a party. In the film adaption of The Long Haul, Mr. and Mrs. Beardo are portrayed by Chris Coppola and Kimberli Lincoln and have a daughter named Brandi and two sons named Brandon and Brent.

Greg says he wants to follow in his footsteps. Greg has been forced to hang around with Fregley on several occasions, to his chagrin or aggravation.

On page 55, 2 of the ladies being kicked out of the house by Frank have different colored skirts and tank tops than on page 54. Greg Heffley is the main character and narrator of the novel “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth”. A beetle climbs into a boy's ear.

They then tie each other together, but can't get untied, which is unfortunate as Timothy Ames needs to use the bathroom. ", the team takes a picture of Tyson's bent arm, which gets them disqualified as the chaperones think the picture is of his buttocks. The Heffleys search and find him walking along the side of the highway. She is depicted as being monstrously demanding. Holly seems to enjoy the boys' companionship and shows gratitude for Rodrick Heffley's unintentional blunders that wind up destroying the undeserving Heather's birthday party. That morning, Greg forgets to put the toothpaste cap back on, and his dad says that if the Heffleys were in frontier times and it was Greg's job to tighten the bolts on the wagon wheels but he forgot to, the wheels would fall off and the family would get eaten by wolves. In the books, Rodrick owns and drives a white van, which sports his band's name written in large black letters, on either side of it and lacks any back seats, the reason being that Rodrick needs room for his band equipment.

They ask a muscular man to tell customers he got that muscle by drinking the water, but he is not interested.
